Introduction
Princess Xianning (1385 – July 27, 1440), the fourth daughter of Ming Chengzu Zhu Di, her mother was Empress Xu. She was born in the 18th year of Hongwu (1385). In the first year of Yongle (1403), she was granted the title Princess Xianning, and subsequently married Song Ying, Marquis of Xining. She had a son named Song Jie. In the 22nd year of Yongle (1424), she was awarded the title of Senior Princess of Xianning; in the second year of Zhengtong (1437), she was further elevated to Grand Princess of Xianning. The princess passed away on July 27, in the fifth year of Zhengtong (1440), at the age of fifty-six. In the 14th year of Zhengtong (1449), her husband Song Ying was killed in battle alongside Marquis Zhu Juan of Wujin and Zhu Wei of Yanghe while defending against the Oirat forces.
