Li Ning, a hermit from Fushui Town in Huayin, Huazhou during the Northern Song Dynasty (present-day Huayin, Shaanxi).
Li Ning was skilled in medicine and maintained good health well into old age, often healing others with his remedies. People would offer him gold and silk in gratitude, but he refused to accept them. During Emperor Zhenzong of Song’s Jingde era, the Empress Dowager Wan'an fell ill and summoned Li Ning to the capital. However, she passed away before he arrived. In the fourth year of Dazhong Xiangfu (1011), he was posthumously awarded the title "Master Zhenghui". Emperor Zhenzong composed a poem in his honor and bestowed upon him tea, medicine, and silk.
