Introduction

Tsai Min-wen, born in Taiwan, is relatively tall and bears a resemblance to Jolin Tsai. After finishing university she went to study in the United States. While in the U.S., she met Jolin Tsai; during Tsai Min-wen’s studies Jolin helped pay her tuition, and the two developed a close friendship. After returning to Taiwan, Tsai Min-wen managed Jolin Tsai’s entertainment affairs and a nail-beauty business, becoming a trusted confidante—especially providing emotional support when Jolin experienced breakups. It is reported that when Tsai Min-wen worked across Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, Jolin Tsai often asked to accompany her to ensure things went smoothly.

Tsai Min-wen ended a ten-year relationship with Lin Chuan-kai, the third-generation heir of the Tatung Group, in 2012 and held a wedding the same year. On the wedding day Lin Chuan-kai arrived in a Ferrari worth more than NT$10 million and held the bride-taking ceremony at Tsai Min-wen’s family home in Xinzhuang, with Jolin Tsai serving as bridesmaid. On the day of the pickup, Lin led a parade of luxury cars to the Tsai residence; Jolin Tsai and Tsai Min-wen’s mother greeted them. A humorous incident occurred when Tsai Min-wen’s pet Maltese, “Bonjour,” accidentally bit her dress, briefly causing confusion. Later, during the bride’s farewell to her parents, Tsai Min-wen shed tears.

The evening banquet was held at the Grand Hyatt Taipei, lavishly decorated and attended by more than 450 guests. During the event Jolin Tsai performed “My Dependence” and appeared in several priceless gowns and jewelry sets. She was natural and gracious, posing for photos with guests and the media, and changed outfits multiple times to highlight the luxurious spectacle.

Lin Chuan-kai’s father, Lin Zhen-yuan, expressed his joy for his son at the wedding; the overall arrangements were very costly. Tsai Min-wen’s wedding became a media focal point and showcased her family’s social standing. After the wedding Tsai Min-wen and Lin Chuan-kai began a new stage of life together. Lin Chuan-kai is an alumnus of the University of California, Santa Barbara, and serves as chairman and deputy general manager of Meiqi Technology, with an estimated net worth exceeding NT$3.5 billion. The Lin family holds influence in Taiwan’s political and business circles and is considered one of Taiwan’s “top ten families.” Before the wedding, Lin Chuan-kai also recorded a cover song to express his love for Tsai Min-wen and appeared with her in a music video documenting how they met, got to know each other, and fell in love.
