Zhao Xiangui, born in 1905, was an important figure in the Chinese revolutionary movement and is honored as a revolutionary martyr. Coming from a relatively prominent family, her father was the owner of the "Jichuntang" store in Daping. Zhao Xiangui received family education from a young age and began studying at a private school at the age of seven.

In 1923, Zhao Xiangui joined the Chinese Communist Party, demonstrating her early revolutionary aspirations. The following summer, in Shaodong, Maotang, she married Mao Zifen. In 1925, she left China to study in the Soviet Union, attending Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow for systematic study to deepen her understanding of Marxist-Leninist theory.

After completing her studies in 1927, Zhao returned to China. However, upon learning that her husband Mao Zifen had married Zhou Wen'nan in Guangzhou, she did not go to find Mao. Instead, she returned to her hometown to engage in revolutionary work, actively participating in the Chinese Communist Party's revolutionary activities within the country. Soon after, she was arrested by enemies for her involvement in secret activities and detained in Xiangxiang County. During her imprisonment, she steadfastly maintained her beliefs and refused to disclose any secrets.

In February 1928, taking advantage of the enemy's negligence, Zhao successfully escaped. Afterwards, she carried out underground work in Yiyang, Yuandong, Wuhan, and Yulu, actively organizing and leading revolutionary actions. In 1931, she was appointed as the secretary of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and married Pei Guang, the Minister of Propaganda of the provincial committee.

In June 1932, Zhao was captured by enemies in Jinan, Shandong, and subsequently met her demise. Although her life was brief, her contributions and spirit of sacrifice in the revolution hold an important place in the history of China's revolutionary struggle.
