Introduction
Prince Akimiya Michihito (Japanese: あきのみやみちひとしんのう; August 22, 1887 – November 12, 1888) was the fourth son of Emperor Meiji of Japan. His mother was Lady Son Sho, the half-sister of Emperor Taisho. His elder brother was Prince Kanezumi Koji. There are no definitive records regarding his insignia or seal titles. At his birth, his imperial title was not officially announced. There were plans to establish a directly founded princely house for Prince Akimiya Michihito, but this was not realized due to his early death. At the time of his passing, the Privy Council was in session. Viscount Inoue Hakushū reported this matter to Emperor Meiji present at the meeting, but the Emperor did not show any obvious emotion before the session ended.
