Introduction
King Jian of Zheng, Zhu Qiying, was born in 1431. He was the eldest legitimate son of Prince Jing, Zhu Zanjun, and the second-generation Prince of Zheng during the Ming Dynasty. In the fourth year of Chenghua (1468), he officially inherited the title of Prince of Zheng. His reign lasted for twenty-seven years, and he passed away in the eighth year of Hongzhi (1495), at approximately 64 years of age. His posthumous title was "Jian." Zhu Qiying's eldest son, Zhu Jianzhi, died early and was unable to succeed to the throne. Six years later, his grandson, Zhu Youchang, officially ascended to the throne.
