Introduction
Xiao Nuomi was born on June 1, 2014 at 14:14 in Hong Kong. She is the daughter of mainland Chinese actress Yang Mi and Hong Kong actor Liu Kaiwei (Hawick Lau). Her birth weight was about six jin (approximately 3 kg). A natural birth had been planned, but because the baby’s head was relatively large, she was ultimately delivered by caesarean section. After her birth, Liu Kaiwei personally cut her umbilical cord and announced her arrival on Weibo, expressing his joy.
Xiao Nuomi’s family includes her grandfather Liu Dan (stage name), grandmother Li Fuying, maternal grandfather Yang Xiaolin, maternal grandmother Yang Chunling, and her parents. Her father, Liu Kaiwei, is an actor, singer and producer; her mother, Yang Mi, is also an actor, singer and producer. Family members have frequently interacted and shared affection publicly on social media.
After her birth, Xiao Nuomi was raised by her grandparents in Hong Kong. Her 100-day banquet was held on September 10, 2014; the venue was colorfully decorated and featured the word “Nosmie.” In March 2014 she reportedly learned to call out “daddy,” indicating developmental progress. Since then she has often appeared in public and in the media, attending events with her parents and other family members.
As she grew, Xiao Nuomi gradually picked up a variety of interests: she learned to play Aeroplane Chess and card games, took ballet and sang English songs, and participated in school parent–child sports days and various extracurricular classes. According to 2021 information, she also began studying tennis, golf and painting, and the family keeps many of her artworks at home.
By 2018 her interests expanded into dance and performance; she once sang a duet with her father at a school concert. After her parents’ divorce, Xiao Nuomi continued to live in Hong Kong, primarily cared for by her grandfather Liu Dan. The two maintain a close relationship and often stay in touch via video calls.
There have been controversies over her personal information, including rumors about her real name and disputes over custody. In 2023, Hong Kong media reported that Yang Mi intended to seek custody of her daughter; Liu Kaiwei reportedly denied this. Despite media attention, Xiao Nuomi’s upbringing has remained focused on family life and schooling. She has shown enthusiasm for various interests in public appearances and has gradually become a focal point of public attention.
