Introduction
Nobumichi Makino (March 6, 1891 – February 7, 1956) was a court official of the Imperial Household Agency and held the title of Marquis among the former kazoku aristocracy.
Birth and Family Background
Nobumichi Makino was born as the eldest son of the Makino family, which held the title of Marquis. His father was Nobuaki Makino, who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Education, and Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal of Japan, and was a grandson of Saigō Takamori.
Educational Background
He attended Gakushuin School and later enrolled in the Department of Political Science at Tokyo Imperial University.
Career
After graduating from Tokyo Imperial University, he worked in the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Subsequently, he served as a bureau official and master of ceremonies at the Imperial Household Agency, engaging in duties related to the Imperial Household.

While attending Gakushuin, his classmate Fumimaro Konoe remarked about Nobumichi Makino that "he was very capable and always ranked first."

His grave is located at Aoyama Reien Cemetery.

His wife was Junko Makino, who served as the chief lady-in-waiting during Empress Michiko’s time as Crown Princess. Junko Makino was the eldest daughter of Naaki Nabeshima.
