Thomas Lawrence Dundas, born in 1768, is the son of Charlotte FitzWilliam, a noblewoman who died in 1833, and links directly to the Watson-Wentworth family through his maternal lineage. His maternal grandmother was Lady Ann Watson-Wentworth, daughter of Thomas Watson-Wentworth, the 1st Marquess of Rockingham, a prominent British politician who lived from 1693 to 1750. Thomas Watson-Wentworth, the 1st Marquess, was the father of Charles Watson-Wentworth, the 2nd Marquess of Rockingham, who served as British Prime Minister from 1730 to 1782.
