Jia Jingwen, born in Taipei City, Taiwan Province, her exact date of birth is not specified. Her father is a businessman, and she is the older sister of two children in her family. During her childhood, her family operated a restaurant called “Tianjinwei,” so she spent most of her time there. Jia Jingwen was discovered by a talent scout in her third year of junior high school and appeared in her first advertisement. In high school, she studied performance for two years at Huagang Art School. Later, she moved to mainland China with her father to develop her career, applied to the Beijing Film Academy, but due to family financial difficulties and family changes, she returned to Taiwan.

In 1990, at age sixteen, Jia Jingwen entered the entertainment industry with the advertisement "Taste of Love – Niuniu Sweet Eight Treasures," and in the same year, she starred in the TV drama "Jia Jia Fu." In 1992, she appeared in urban dramas such as "Mother Hen with Little Ducks" and emotional dramas like "A Cool and Warm Season." In 1993, she developed her career in mainland China with her father, studying at Nankai University in Tianjin in the Department of Eastern Arts. Between 1994 and 1996, Jia Jingwen starred in several TV dramas including "That Year We Were Cool," "My Dad is an Anchor," "Crystal Flowers," and "Love and Red Dust," playing significant roles in each. In 1997, her leading role in the modern family drama "Four Thousand Gold" earned her the Best Newcomer Award at the Golden Bell Awards for Taiwanese television. She gradually gained prominence, starring in popular dramas such as "Justice Pao: Jade Xiao Divine Flute."

From 1998 onwards, Jia Jingwen remained active in film and television, appearing in movies like "True Love Madness," and was nominated for the Golden Bell Award for her hosting of the children's program "Super Little Players." In 1999, she began hosting variety shows, collaborating with Hu Gua and Luo Zhixiang on "Victory," and starred in numerous costume martial arts dramas like "The Little Li Flying Dagger," "Revolving Blade," and her notable work "The Seventh Generation Couple: Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai."

In the 2000s, Jia Jingwen achieved success in mainland China, starring in classic dramas such as "The Emperor in the Han Dynasty" and "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber." She consolidated her position with works like "Towards the Left, Towards the Right," and "The 100th Bride" in 2004. From 2005 to 2009, she gradually reduced her acting activities to focus on her family. She later re-emerged on screen with roles in "The Princess Tai Ping" and "Invisible Wings," among others.

From 2011 onward, Jia Jingwen released a music EP titled "Make a Wish" and continued active participation in TV dramas, winning the Best Actress award at the 54th Golden Bell Awards for Taiwanese television for her role in "The Distance Between Us and Evil." She has taken on leading roles in many recent works, also serving as producer and actively engaging in charitable activities, including serving as a public welfare ambassador and advocating for social awareness of vulnerable groups.

Regarding her family life, she married Sun Zhih-hao in 2005 and has a daughter, Sun Lingqian. Following their divorce due to relationship issues, she began a relationship with Taiwanese actor Hsu Jiekai in 2014, married him in 2015, and they have two daughters. Their wedding was held in Bali in 2018. Additionally, she and her brother Jia Zichen co-founded brands such as “Jia Yishi Ri” and have participated multiple times in charitable causes, receiving numerous awards and honors.
