Johannes Benson

Johannes Benson was born on February 8, 1655, in Albany, New York, and died around 1715. He is the father of Helena Benson, who was born on October 8, 1682, and died approximately in 1708. Helena Benson is the mother of Cornelius Kortright, a merchant from New York who lived circa 1704 to 1745. Cornelius Kortright is the father of Lawrence Kortright, born around 1728 and deceased before 1794, and the grandfather of Elizabeth Monroe. Elizabeth Monroe was the daughter of Lawrence Kortright and became the wife of James Monroe, the President of the United States from 1817 to 1825, and served as First Lady during his presidency.
