Introduction
Fumiko Takagi (born December 22, 1946) is a former member of the Japanese imperial family. She was the wife of Daisuke Takagi and held the status of princess before leaving the imperial family. The honorific used for her in the Imperial House Law was "Her Highness." Her former name was Princess Fumiko.
Her birth and family background are as follows: She was born on December 22, 1946 (Showa 21), at the Tokugō Palace in Takanawa Minami-chō, Shiba Ward, Tokyo. She was the second child (eldest daughter) of Prince Morinaga (the first son of Prince Nashimoto) and Princess Nirei Seiji, the first daughter of Emperor Showa. Her given name at birth was Fumiko. Her paternal grandfather was Prince Nashimoto Morinaga, making him her grandfather on her father's side.
As a member of the imperial family, she renounced her Imperial House status on October 14, 1947 (Showa 22), based on Article 13 of the Imperial House Law (Law No. 3 of 1947), along with her grandfather, Prince Nashimoto Morinaga. At that time, she was the youngest person to leave the imperial family. After her departure, she became a common citizen. Subsequently, she attended the Toyo Eiwa Jogakuin Junior and Senior High School, and then continued to the college division of the same school’s English department.
During her school years, she participated in the Children’s Culture Research Society. After graduation, she began her career as a picture book author, creating original picture books. Her pen name was Kita Miki, and her作品 include "Nonezumi Wiscar" (1979), "Charlie’s Puppy" (1981), and "Yuki no hi Amimono" (1982).
Regarding her personal life, she first married Kazutoshi Omura in 1967 (Showa 42) at age 21 but later divorced. Kazutoshi Omura was the heir to the Omura Viscount family. On May 24, 1985 (Showa 60), she remarried Daisuke Takagi. At that time, while working at Meitetsu Department Store in Nagoya, they held a modest wedding reception with relatives and Imperial Household Agency officials at Nagoya Kokusai Hotel.
Her family and relatives are as follows: Her father is Prince Morinaga, and her mother is Princess Nirei Seiji. Her siblings include Prince Nobuhiko, Princess Fumiko, Prince Hidehiko (adopted into the Mibu family), Prince Masahiko, and Princess Yuko. Her uncle is Emperor Akihito (the 125th Emperor). Her cousins include Emperor Naruhito (the 126th Emperor), Prince Fumihito (Akishino), and Princess Kiko (Kuroda Kiko). Her half-brothers include adopted sons Atsuhiko and Morihiko; the family structure is complex.
Additionally, her former husband was Kazutoshi Omura, and she later married Daisuke Takagi, which holds significance in her family lineage.
