Introduction
Jeon Mi-ri (born December 25, 1964, in South Korea) began her acting career in 1984. She has appeared in numerous television dramas and films across major Korean broadcasters, including KBS, MBC and SBS. In 1986 she appeared in the TV series Kkeurugi and One Roof, Three Families (한지붕 세 가족); in 1988 she appeared in the historical drama 500 Years of the Joseon Dynasty: Queen Inhyeon (조선왕조 500년 인현왕후). In the following years she established a steady presence in the entertainment industry, appearing in notable works such as Dangerous Scent (1988), I Want to Cry (1989), Mudong’s House (무동이네 집, 1991) and several installments of the Best Theater (베스트극장) series.
In 1993 she starred in the stage plays The Hangang Cuckoo (한강뻐꾸기) and For the Apartment (아파트를 위하여), broadening her performance range. In 1995 she starred in the TV dramas Jang Hee-bin and LA Arirang, and in the stage production Temptation (유혹). In 1996 she played a key role in the drama Cute Woman (귀여운 여자). In the 2000s she continued to appear on various networks in productions such as Aunt (2000), The Rumored Woman (2001), Dae Jang Geum (Jewel in the Palace, 2003), Han River Pursuit and later in the historical drama Jumong (2006) and the family drama Golden Bride (2007).
On film, Jeon appeared in I Want to Cry (1989) and in 2006 she took part in the SBS autumn special Heugeun’s Mother (黑根的媽媽). In 2009 she appeared in the film The Turtle Runs Fast. She has also hosted several radio and TV programs, including EBS’s Queen of Life (생활의 여왕) from 2005 to 2006.
Jeon Mi-ri received the SBS Excellence Award for Best Actress in 2005 for her performance in Love Empathy (爱情共感), and in 2007 won the SBS Excellence Award for her role in Golden Bride. She has frequently appeared on variety shows such as KBS-2’s Star Golden Bell and Music Bank, and SBS’s Inkigayo, demonstrating a wide range of entertainment skills.
