Introduction
Dong E, Manchu Aisin Gioro clan, 1647–1706. Grandson of Qing Founder Nurhaci, seventh son, son of Yutong QIN Wang Duo Duo, younger brother of Yuxuan and QIN Wang Duo Ni. Initially granted the title of Beile. In the 13th year of Kangxi (1674), appointed General of Dingxi to suppress the rebel Wang Fuchen. Dong E, along with Meile Ezheng He Ye and others, defended Fengxiang, personally leading troops stationed in Xi'an. The imperial court ordered him to go to Lanzhou; however, Dong E did not depart immediately, and the emperor further commanded strict defense of the relay stations. Wang Fuchen destroyed bridges and cut off relay roads; the court blamed Dong E for delays but still ordered him to capture Pingliang and the routes to Qinzhou. Dong E advanced and captured Qishan Lixian, drove the enemy to Xihe, seized Qingshui, and brought the Qiang territory under control. He then dispatched Anxi General Mu Zhan to seize Gongchang and Lanzhou. He joined forces with Biliktu and Amid Da to attack Pingliang, but the city resisted for a long time without fall. In the 15th year of Kangxi (1676), Grand Academician Tu Hai inspected the army and promoted Dong E to Gushan Ezheng, placing him under Tu Hai’s command. In the 16th year of Kangxi (1677), in February, his Beile title was revoked. In the 31st year of Kangxi (1692), Dong E was appointed to the official post of Zhenglan Gushan Ezheng. In the 41st year of Kangxi (1702), his nephew, Prince of Xun County E Zha, died; in the 42nd year of Kangxi (1703), Dong E inherited the title of Prince of Xun County. He died in the 45th year of Kangxi (1706), remaining under previous charges and not granted mercy. His second son, De Zhao, succeeded as Prince of Xun County.
