His father was Torizo Tottori, and his brother was Tsunataro Tottori (former president of Shikoku Coca-Cola Bottling). His daughter is Princess Hisako, Princess Takamado. He was related by marriage to the Japanese imperial family, being the father of Princess Hisako. Additionally, Princess Shōko, Noriko Chia, and Ayako Moriya are his grandchildren.
**Biography**
Shigejiro Tottori was from Kasada Village, Mitoyo District, Kagawa Prefecture, and belonged to the Tottori family. The family lineage begins with his grandfather, Jirōhachi Tottori (an agriculturist and notable taxpayer), who inherited the family headship in 1886 (Meiji 19). His father, Torizo Tottori (landowner and also a significant taxpayer), was born in February 1888 (Meiji 21), graduated from Waseda University’s Commercial Department in 1911 (Meiji 44), and succeeded in the family business. His mother was Hisano (or Hisaka), a sister of Tokuichi Iwai from Kagawa.
Shigejiro Tottori graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo. His career included roles as managing director of Toho Bussan, president of Mitsui Bussan France, and chairman of Tokai Tourism. In his later years, he engaged in lectures and activities supported by the Japan Student Help Foundation.
In 2002 (Heisei 14), he served as the general representative at the funeral of Prince Takamado (Kinnogō-no-miya). He died on February 10, 2013 (Heisei 25) from acute leukemia at the age of 89.

His siblings include his older brother Tsunataro Tottori (businessman, born in 1919, died in 2006), and sisters Masu, Aki, Miti, and younger sister Nobu. His wife was Futamiko, the daughter of Jiro Tomoda (diplomat and Imperial Household Ministry official). Their daughter is Princess Hisako, who later became Princess Takamado.
The Tottori family's religion is Jodo Shinshu (Pure Land Buddhism). Shigejiro Tottori served as secretary-general, president, and special advisor of the French Ladies' Association (ALF). He was awarded the French Legion of Honour, Officier, in 2013, following in the footsteps of his grandfather Yoshikuni Soga and his father Jiro Tomoda. This honor was bestowed across three generations.
