Zhang Pin is the third son of General Zhang Aiping, a founding general of the People’s Republic of China, and his second wife Li Youlan.
He served as Deputy General Manager of Xincheng Times Company under the National Defense Industry Office, holding the military rank of Senior Colonel.
His son, Zhang Xinliang, is an entrepreneur and founder of Xinyi Capital, and is married into the family of senior Chinese leader Wang Yang.
