Introduction
Princess Shunde was the eldest daughter of Ming Emperor Xuanzong Zhu Zhanji. She was born to Empress Hu and had a full sister, Princess Yongqing. The princess was born in the eighteenth year of the Yongle era (1420). Her parents were Crown Prince Zhu Zhanji and Crown Princess Hu Shixiang. In the second year of the Zhengtong era (1437), the princess was married off by Grand Empress Dowager Sun to Shijing from Changli (courtesy name Tinggui). Shijing's grandfather, Shi Mingchu, fought alongside Emperor Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang and achieved many military successes. His father, Shi Lin, served as the front guard of the imperial army during the Yongle period and later moved to the capital to reside. In the fifth year of the Tianshun era (1461), Shijing led troops to quell the rebellion of Cao Jixiang, defeated the enemy, and captured remaining insurgents. The princess passed away in the fourteenth year of the Chenghua era (1478) at the age of twenty-four, with no children. Shijing had two sons: Shi Kuan and Shi Hong. The princess and Shijing were buried together in Langshan, Yuhe Township, Wanping County.
