John Robinson was the son of Mary Aislabie and a contemporary of Thomas Robinson, 1st Baron Grantham, a British diplomatist and politician who lived from 1695 to 1770. Thomas Robinson, 1st Baron Grantham, was the father of Thomas Robinson, 2nd Baron Grantham, a British politician and statesman who lived from 1738 to 1786. F. J. Robinson, 1st Viscount Goderich, was the son of Thomas Robinson, 2nd Baron Grantham, and served as a British Prime Minister and politician from 1782 to 1859. John Robinson died in 1742.
