Rong Mozhen was the ninth daughter of the renowned Chinese industrialist Rong Desheng and the younger sister of Rong Yiren. In September 1946, Rong Desheng sent her, along with his seventh son Rong Hongren and eldest grandson Rong Zhiming, to study in the United States. Before their departure, he advised them not to focus solely on degrees or diplomas, but rather on applying what they learned in practice.
During the development of the family business, Rong Mozhen played an active role. When the company was being established, banks required multiple conditions to be met, including having influential individuals serve on the board of directors. After careful consideration, Rong Mozhen was chosen as a suitable candidate. She gladly accepted the invitation, becoming an important representative during the company’s public stock issuance.
When the stocks were issued, Rong Mozhen not only participated enthusiastically but also firmly subscribed to 1,000 shares (worth 50,000 yuan), a significant amount at the time. This demonstrated her strong commitment to and support for the family’s enterprises.
