Deacon Samuel Bass

Deacon Samuel Bass was born in 1660 and died in 1751. He was the son of Ruth Alden and the brother of Hannah Bass. Hannah Bass was the mother of John Adams, Sr., making Samuel Bass the great-uncle of John Adams, the second President of the United States. John Adams, Sr. was the son of Hannah Bass and was a British colonial farmer and minister; he was the father of John Adams, who served as U.S. President from 1797 to 1801. Ruth Alden, the mother of Samuel Bass and Hannah Bass, was born in 1637 and died in 1674.
