Introduction
Aisin Gioro Yunbi (允秘, born Yinbi; 5 July 1716 – 3 December 1773), known publicly by his title Prince Xian, was an imperial prince during the Qing Dynasty. He was the 24th surviving son of the Kangxi Emperor.
Yinbi was born on 5 July 1716 to Concubine Mu, Lady Chen (陳氏), who was of Han Chinese descent. Lady Chen passed away in 1727 and was interred in the Jingling tombs. Following her death, Yinbi was required to change the first character of his given name from "Yin" to "Yun".
In the 11th year of the Yongzheng Emperor’s reign (1733), Yunbi was granted the title of Prince Xian of the First Rank. The Yongzheng Emperor issued a commendation for Yunbi’s character and conduct, noting his loyalty, studiousness, peaceful nature, and the affection his father, the Kangxi Emperor, held for him. The emperor also recognized Yunbi’s efforts in studying and his increasing knowledge, which contributed to his elevation in rank.
Throughout the Yongzheng era, Yunbi held various official positions, including serving as a first-rank military official (都統) of the Bordered White Banner, Plain White Banner, and Plain Yellow Banner. He continued to serve in the Qing military hierarchy until his death. Yunbi died on 3 December 1773 and was posthumously awarded the title Prince Xianke of the First Rank (諴恪親王).
