Margaret Peel is the daughter of Jonathan Peel, a British Army general who lived from 1799 to 1879, and the granddaughter of Sir Robert Peel, 1st Baronet, a British politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during 1834–1835 and 1841–1846. She is also the great-granddaughter of Sir Robert Peel, 1st Baronet, the British politician born in 1750 and who died in 1830.
