Introduction
Zhu Youji, the second son of Emperor Xianzong of the Ming Dynasty, was born on April 28, in the fifth year of Chenghua (June 1469). On November 16, in the seventh year of Chenghua (1471), he was designated as crown prince, but he never ascended the throne. He passed away on the twenty-sixth day of the first month of the eighth year of Chenghua (January 1472), at less than three years old. After his death, he was posthumously titled Dutiful Prince of Gong.
