Introduction
Zhu Zhantan, the second son of the Ming Dynasty's second Crown Prince of Han, Zhu Gaoxu. His birth and death dates are unknown, and his place of birth is also not recorded. In the 22nd year of the Yongle Emperor's reign (1424), because his elder brother was demoted to a commoner, Zhu Zhantan was conferred the title of Han Prince Descendant. However, he was unable to formally inherit the title. In the first year of the Xuande Emperor's reign (1426), his father Zhu Gaoxu was implicated in a conspiracy and executed, and Zhu Zhantan was also killed as a result. Details about his family background are not well documented, primarily recorded in the "History of Ming" and the "Veritable Records of Ming."
