Huang Yiqing was born in Shanghai. During his early years, he studied abroad in Australia and the United States. The specific timing and institutions of his studies have not been disclosed, but he completed his university education at the age of 25 and returned to China. After returning to China, he did not rely on his family's industry but instead founded the Shanghai Supercar Club (SSCC), serving as its chairman. In addition, he holds a director position at the Shanghai Sports Development Foundation and led the initiation of the Xin Dongli Public Welfare Charity Fund.

Regarding his personal life, Huang Yiqing's relationship with actress Huang Yi has attracted widespread attention. Reports indicate that the two met at a social gathering and quickly established a romantic relationship. In 2011, Huang Yiqing publicly supported Huang Yi on Weibo, criticizing negative media reports at the time. On November 26 of the same year, he openly acknowledged his relationship with Huang Yi on Weibo and posted intimate photos of the two. In December 2012, they took wedding photos in Shanghai, and on January 19, 2013, they welcomed their daughter in Los Angeles, USA; photos of the daughter were also shared by Huang Yiqing on Weibo.

In 2019, he was investigated by public security authorities for multiple crimes, including provoking trouble, drug use, and drug trafficking. He was ultimately sentenced to fifteen years in prison for drug trafficking and deprived of political rights for three years.
