Joseph Taft

Joseph Taft, who lived from 1680 to 1747, was an American individual and the progenitor of the Taft family lineage detailed in this context. He was the father of Peter Taft, who was born around 1715 and died on December 12, 1783. Peter Taft was the father of Aaron Taft (1743-1808), who in turn was the father of Peter Rawson Taft (1785-1867). Peter Rawson Taft was the father of Alphonso Taft (1810-1891), an American diplomat. William Howard Taft, the son of Alphonso Taft, served as the President of the United States from 1909 to 1913.
