Introduction
Memorial to the Hidden King Zhu Xianying of Le'an
Born on October 16, 1384, he was the eldest son of the First Qi King Zhu Lu of the Ming Dynasty and the eighteenth grandson of Ming Taizu. His place of birth is unknown. In August of the 35th year of Hongwu (1402), Zhu Xianying was granted the title of King of Le'an. In the 4th year of Yongle (1406), due to his father's intense words leading to a calamity, Zhu Xianying was stripped of his royal title and reduced to a commoner, being reassigned to Nanjing.
In the 3rd year of Xuande (1428), a man from Fujian named Lou Lian attempted to conduct unlawful activities under the guise of “Seventh-Fold Small Qi King.” He was apprehended and lawfully sent to the capital, where he and several hundred of his followers were executed. In the same year, Zhu Lu and his three sons all died suddenly and one after another.
