Rong Yiren, courtesy name Yixin, was the third son of the renowned Chinese industrialist Rong Desheng and a member of the Liangxi Rong clan, Chunyi branch. The Rong family was known as the 'Red Capitalists' of modern China, with business operations spanning Wuxi, Shanghai, and Hankou, where they established enterprises such as Baoxing, Fuxin, Maoxin Flour Mills, and Zhenxin and Shenxin Textile Mills. At their peak, the family owned 12 flour mills and 9 textile factories, significantly shaping the development of China’s national industry.

As one of Rong Desheng’s sons, Rong Yiren grew up during the heyday of the family’s industrial empire. He not only inherited the family’s legacy but also witnessed the expansion of the Rong businesses into Hong Kong and overseas markets.

In 1948, Rong Yiren tragically died in the Hong Kong Firestone Island air crash, cutting short the life of a key member of the younger generation of the Rong family. His untimely death remains a sorrowful chapter in the history of the Rong clan.
