Koma Mine (born March 16, 1906, in Miyagi Prefecture – died November 16, 1974) was a Japanese entrepreneur. He served as the former president of Showa Paper Bag Industry, and his family and relatives include prominent politicians and businesspeople.
Koma Mine's father was Hachiro Mine, a native of Miyagi Prefecture. After graduating from Meiji Junior High School (currently Meiji University High School and Junior High School) in 1929, he attended Waseda University’s Faculty of Commerce and graduated. Following his university education, he worked at the Colonial Bureau of the Taiwan Governor-General's Office, and later moved to Takakura Mining, where he served as an auditor.
In 1937, he joined Showa Paper Bag Industry, progressing from auditor to director. In 1950, he was promoted to senior managing director, and in 1956 became vice president. In 1959, he assumed the position of president of the company. During his tenure, the company continued to expand. He passed away in 1974 at the age of 68. His funeral was held at the Tamba Cemetery in Fuchu, Tokyo.
In his personal life, he enjoyed music and mountain climbing. He practiced Jōdo-shū (Pure Land Buddhism). He was a classmate and close friend of Kiyuo Sakurai, who served as chairman of Chugoku Electric Power. His wife, Yoshiko, was the second daughter of politician Yukio Sakurai, and she was from Shimane Prefecture.
His family structure is as follows: his eldest son Hiro served as a director at Japan Atomic Power Company. His eldest daughter Fuyako was married to Akira Saito, the eldest son of banker Yasuhiro Saito. His second daughter Kiyoko was the wife of politician Yasuo Fukuda, and Tatsuwo Fukuda, a politician, is her grandson. The family includes several notable figures in politics and industry.
The ancestral lineage traces back to Hachiro Mine, with a family tree centered around his father, Hachiro Mine, and his mother, Yoshiko. Details of the Sakurai family's bloodline and related relatives are documented in the works "People of the Sakurai Family" by Kounsuke Kouno and "Powerful Clans, Networks of Regional Elites" by Asayasu Sato.
