Introduction
Wang Zhushang Hui Jian of Yongshou (April 17, 1390 – September 19, 1420), the first Yongshou Prince of the Ming Dynasty, was the fifth son of Zhu Shuang. Born in 1390 during the early Ming period. In 1402, he was granted the title of Prince of Yongshou, with his residence located two miles southwest of Qin Prefecture. The same year, he held his investiture ceremony.
In 1407, he traveled to Nanjing to pay homage to Ming Chengzu, where he was hosted with a banquet by Crown Prince Zhu Gaochi. In 1408, he returned to Xi'an Prefecture. In 1410, he again traveled to Nanjing to pay homage to Ming Chengzu. The following year, he returned to Xi'an Prefecture.
In 1417, he made a third journey to Nanjing, accompanied by his older brother Zhu Shangyun. That same month, he returned to Xi'an Prefecture with his brother. Wang Zhushang Hui Jian died in 1420 at the age of 31, having held his position for 19 years. He was posthumously titled Huai Jian and buried in Baopi Village, Xianning County.
His eldest legitimate son, Zhu Zhizhi, inherited the title as Prince of Yongshou An Hui. His wife was Lady Wu, who was enfeoffed as princess consort in the ninth year of Yongle (1411). Many of his descendants held official positions; details can be found in their family genealogical records.
