Introduction
Zaisang (also written as Zaisang), a Bower of the Qing Dynasty's Khorchin divisions, was a descendant of Genghis Khan's 18th grandson, Hasar. His father was Bower Mangusi. There are no records of his mother. According to Sunamu's account, which inherits from his father's widow, Khorchin Empress Dowager, he was a half-brother of Empress Zhe Zhe, the Empress Consort of Huang Taiji. Zaisang had four sons and at least two recorded daughters.
His two daughters were Empress Xiaozhuangwen and Hailanzhu, both of whom married Huang Taiji successively. Emperor Shunzhi was his grandson.
In the first year of Chongde (1636), Huang Taiji bestowed his eldest son Uksyan the title of Zhuoriketutu Prince. This marked the continued strengthening of marriage alliances between the Khorchin division and the Qing Dynasty.
In May of the 11th year of Shunzhi (1654), on Renchen day, Emperor Shunzhi posthumously honored Zaisang as Heshuo Zhongqinwang (Prince Zhong of Heshuo), with his wife, Khorchin Second Consort Boli, honored as Feast Consort (Xianfei). In the 12th year of Shunzhi (1655), in Kuli Village, Changshan Town, Qian Gorlos Mongol Autonomous County, Songyuan City, Jilin Province, a stele was erected to commemorate his posthumous promotion to Prince Zhong and his consort, now a feast consort, which is currently a key cultural relic protected at the national level in Jilin.
Family background: There are no records of his mother. According to Sunamu’s account, which inherits from his father’s widow, Khorchin Empress Dowager, he was a half-brother to Huang Taiji’s Empress Zhe Zhe. He had four sons and at least two recorded daughters.
His eldest son, Uksyan, was the Zhuoriketutu Prince of the Khorchin Left Wing Center (also called Dalan Banner). His daughter became Emperor Shunzhi’s first empress but was later deposed. The second son, Chahan, was the descendant of the Dalan Banner Bower and Gushan Beizi; his granddaughter became the second empress of Emperor Shunzhi, Xia Hui Zhanghuang Hou. The third son, Sunamu, inherited his father's widow, Khorchin Empress Dowager, and had one son and two daughters: Dazhe, Jingxiao Yihou, and Qitatte; he accompanied Huang Taiji on military campaigns and died in the Gisi upheaval. He also had a daughter, the sister of Jingxiao Yihou, who became Huo Ge Furen (Noble Consort Huo Ge), later married Dorgon, and was an ancestor of Dulan Banner Wendu’er Prince. His fourth son, Manzhu Xili, married Huang Taiji’s adopted daughter, the Mistress of Heshuo Princess, and became the first Dalan Prince. His daughters included Hailanzhu, also known as Minhui Gonghe Yuan Fei, and BumuButai, also known as Empress Xiaozhuangwen.
