Robert Royce, Shoemaker

Robert Royce was a shoemaker born on March 1, 1603, in New London and died on September 22, 1676. He was the father of Nehemiah Royce, who was born around 1636 in Wallingford and died in November 1706 in New London. Nehemiah's daughter Lydia Royce was born on May 28, 1680, in Wallingford and passed away approximately between 1747 and 1751. Lydia's daughter Susannah Messenger was born on November 30, 1704, in Wallingford. Susannah Messenger's daughter was Tabitha Hopkins, born on October 16, 1745, in Harwinton, Connecticut. Tabitha Hopkins was the mother of Phoebe Millard, who became the mother of Millard Fillmore, the President of the United States from 1850 to 1853.
