Introduction
Edmund Peel was born on 8 August 1791 and died on 1 November 1850. He was an English politician who served as a Member of Parliament for Newcastle-under-Lyme during two periods: from 1831 to 1832 and from 1835 to 1837. Peel was the son of Sir Robert Peel and the brother of Sir Robert Peel, who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
He received his education at Harrow School. In 1812, Peel married Emily Swinfen, the daughter of John Swinfen. Together, they had four children, including three sons and one daughter.
