Yin Xu was born in Anshan City, Liaoning Province. She studied dance from a young age and traveled alone to Beijing at the age of 14 to pursue further studies. She was later admitted to the Acting Department of Beijing Film Academy. In 2004, she appeared in the television drama "Taiwan's First Governor Liu Mingchuan," officially stepping into the entertainment industry. Subsequently, in 2005, she co-starred with Xu Jinglei and Liu Yifei in "Youth," but paused her career to focus on her family in 2006. She made a comeback in 2009, participating in "Very Perfect," and later played Princess Lanling in "The Tang Dynasty's Good Man."
