Introduction

Liang Jingci, born in 1964, married actor Donnie Yen at the end of 1993. The two met in 1993 through friends and in November of that year she accompanied Donnie Yen to the premiere of the film Heroes Among Heroes: The Return of Beggar So. They registered their marriage in the United States in December, but the wedding ceremony did not include either set of parents and was not disclosed to the public. After marriage Liang chose to live a low‑profile life and made very few public appearances before or after the wedding.

In November 1994, because of incompatibility in personality, Liang hired a lawyer to process separation papers, and the marriage ended in less than a year. After the divorce Liang discovered she was pregnant and subsequently gave birth to a son, Yen Wen Zhuo (Jeff Yen). She then withdrew from public life to Clear Water Bay in Hong Kong to focus on raising her child and living a relatively quiet life. Donnie Yen paid monthly child support and housing expenses to support the mother and son.

On her private life, Liang said she was “accustomed to an ordinary life and does not like to be flamboyant.” After the divorce she continued to raise her son quietly. Financially, Donnie Yen paid HK$40,000 per month in child support; income from renting or selling jointly owned property went to Liang, and she continued to be responsible for the mortgage on that property. She worked to provide security for her son and tried to keep him from becoming a “second‑generation celebrity.”

In 2013, when Yen Wen Zhuo was hospitalized for health reasons and Donnie Yen did not visit in person, the incident drew public attention. Liang responded that she was cool about the amount of child support and about Donnie Yen’s relationship with his current wife, Cissy Wang, denying any contact between the families. She used phrases like “an extinct breed of good men” to express her dissatisfaction, showing some resentment toward her ex‑husband.

In daily life, Liang refused media interviews in 2018, saying she only wished to quietly raise her son and continued to work to secure his future. She insisted on saving every payment of child support and strove to keep her son away from public intrusion. In her family situation, Donnie Yen is her ex‑husband and Yen Wen Zhuo is her only child.

Donnie Yen, born July 27, 1963 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, is an actor, martial arts choreographer, director, producer, and film producer. His representative works include The Thousand Faces of Dunjia, SPL: Sha Po Lang, Ip Man, Rogue, and others.
