Introduction
Linde Wang, born in 1973 in the United States, is a scientific researcher with a notable reputation in the fields of immuno-oncology and pediatric hematology. During high school, he achieved the top score in the nationwide college entrance exam in the United States and was subsequently received by then-President George H. W. Bush. Later, he declined admission offers from Harvard University and chose to pursue his undergraduate studies at Yale University. At Yale, Wang majored in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, and he subsequently earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Chicago.
His career began with internships and residencies at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, followed by specialized training in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at the Dana-Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. During this period, he conducted postdoctoral research in Dr. Amy Wagers’s laboratory at Harvard Stem Cell Institute.
In 2011, Wang started working at the Dana-Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center in Boston, Massachusetts, serving as a Pediatric Instructor. In 2016, he moved to California to take up a position as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Immuno-Oncology and Pediatrics at Hope City. In 2020, he published several research papers, including three articles as the corresponding author, covering basic research, reviews, and discussions.
In June 2021, he learned that he had been awarded an $8.4 million grant by the California Regenerative Medicine Institute, primarily for conducting clinical trials of CAR T-cell therapy in pediatric brain tumors. By 2021, he had published 19 academic papers in top international journals such as PNAS, Blood, and Nature Medicine.
In 2023, Wang held the position of Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Immuno-Oncology at Hope City Hospital in California and concurrently served as Director of the Hope City Alpha Stem Cell Clinic Project. His research team focuses on harnessing the immune system to fight childhood cancers through cellular engineering techniques that reprogram human immune cells, and they are conducting various clinical trials to optimize immunotherapy.
His main research areas include CAR T-cell therapy, the biology of hematopoietic stem cells and progenitor cells, immune cell signal transduction, and bioengineering. Academically, he also holds positions such as Associate Professor of Immuno-Oncology, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, and Director of the Clinical Gene Therapy Program.
Wang Wang has a notable family background. His great-grandfather served as vice-commander of the Zhongshan Fleet and was inscribed by Sun Yat-sen. On his paternal side, his father, Wang Dazhong, attended the Medical College of Taiwan University, and his mother graduated from Political University. His younger brother, Wang Lihong, is a well-known Mandarin pop musician, actor, and director. The family also includes several members with rich academic backgrounds.
