Introduction
Yu Huaiwang Zhu Xiongying, a prince posthumously bestowed as King Yu by the Ming Dynasty, was born on December 1, 1374, and died on June 12, 1382, at the age of seven. His father was Crown Prince Zhu Biao, and his mother was Crown Princess Chang. Zhu Xiongying was the eldest legitimate son of Crown Prince Zhu Biao. He was born in the seventh year of Hongwu (1374) and passed away in the fifteenth year of Hongwu (1382), in May. His grandfather, Emperor Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang, mourned his early death, discontinued court duties, and held a funeral for him at Mount Zhongshan. The attending officials all wore mourning clothes and walked on foot to bid farewell. In the same year, Zhu Xiongying was posthumously granted the title King Yu, with the courtesy name Huai. He is recorded in the "History of Ming," which includes his biography, as well as in historical texts such as the "Ming Shilu" (Veritable Records of the Ming Dynasty).
