Meng Jun, born with the name Meng Fengming, is the ex-wife of Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei and the mother of Meng Wanzhou.

She was born into a high-ranking official family. Her father, Meng Dongbo (1919–2001), served as Secretary-General of the Shandong Provincial People’s Government and Director of the Department of Civil Affairs, later holding positions as Director of the Sichuan Metallurgical Industry Department, Director of the Sichuan Economic Commission, and Vice Governor of Sichuan Province.

In 1968, while studying at Chongqing Institute of Civil Engineering (now Chongqing University), Meng Jun met Ren Zhengfei through an introduction, and they began a free-love relationship. In 1972, they welcomed their first daughter, Meng Wanzhou, who took her mother’s surname. Later, they had a son, Ren Ping.

In 1982, responding to the military downsizing policy, Meng Jun left the army and moved to Shenzhen, where she took on a management role at Nanyou Group, becoming a senior executive. She enjoyed a stable career and supported her family.

However, as both she and Ren Zhengfei became increasingly occupied with their work, family conflicts escalated. In 1984, Meng Jun initiated a divorce. Afterward, she did not remarry and instead lived a retired life, devoting great attention to her children’s education. Under her guidance, both Meng Wanzhou and Ren Ping graduated from top Chinese universities and later became executives at Huawei.

In later years, Meng Jun lived in Canada, helping her children take care of their families. Despite the divorce, she maintained a good relationship with Ren Zhengfei, even helping him and his later wife, Yao Ling, handle their marriage and childbirth documents. She got along well with Yao Ling, and Ren Zhengfei continued to refer to Meng Jun fondly as the “White Swan” many years after their separation.
