George Boyd was a merchant born in 1779 and died in 1846. He was married to Harriet Johnson Boyd, who lived from 1781 to 1850. Harriet Johnson Boyd was the daughter of Joshua Johnson, a merchant born in 1742 and deceased in 1802. Joshua Johnson was also the father of Louisa Adams, who served as First Lady of the United States from 1825 to 1829 during the presidency of her husband, John Quincy Adams.
