Introduction

Gulun Yongmu Chang Princess Yatu (1629–1678), a princess of the Qing imperial family. Her mother was Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang of the Borjigit clan, and her father was Huang Taiji. She was the sister of Emperor Shunzhi and was settled as a Gulun Princess.

Main points of her life:

- Birth and Marriage: Born on the eighth day of the first lunar month of the third year of the Tiansheng era (1641) at noon. In the sixth year of Chongde (1641), she was married to Biletaqal, son of her maternal uncle, Prince Khorchin Zhuoliketu Wu Keshan.

- Title and Name Changes: On the fifteenth day of the second lunar month of the fourteenth year of Shunzhi (1657), she was granted the title of Gulun Chang Princess; on December 24th of the sixteenth year of Shunzhi (1659), she was bestowed the title Xingping Chang Princess, which was later changed to Gulun Yongmu Chang Princess.

- Treatment and Records During Kangxi Era: In the first year of Kangxi, due to the difficult living conditions of the princess and her consort, the Empress Dowager ordered the Imperial Household Department to select merchants to provide supplies for her residence. On September 14th of the second year of Kangxi, records in the "Fei Yanggu and others’ Tribute Horses and Rewards" list Biletaqal, her consort, along with Ri Gui Gulun Princess, bringing tribute horses, with plans to bestow silver tea buckets, silk, and mink fur. On November 8th of the fifth year of Kangxi, records of the death of Khorchin Zhuoliketu Prince Kalantu and the succession of Biletaqal to her original title mention that Biletaqal received the title of Gulun Consort, inheriting the rank of prince.

- Burial Record and Epitaph: On the 18th day of the third lunar month in Kangxi's seventeenth year (1698), during the hour of the horse (between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.), Gulun Yongmu Chang Princess passed away at the age of fifty. She was buried on December 5th of the eighteenth year of Kangxi in the eastern Tian Eriqi boundary at Chohor. Her epitaph states: “Gulun Yongmu Chang Princess, daughter of Emperor Taizong Weng, sister of Emperor Shizu Zhang, and aunt of the current emperor,” and notes her age at death as fifty, with funeral rites conducted according to ritual standards.

- Family Relations and Title Dispute: According to the "Four Genealogies of the Qing Imperial Family," her aunt—an empress—was posthumously titled “Da Chang Princess.” However, her own epitaph only refers to her as “Chang Princess,” without mentioning “Da Chang Princess,” leading to some debate over whether "Da Chang Princess" was an official hereditary title.

Educational Information: There are no records documenting her education activities. Other specific historical sources do not list any particular educational experiences for Princess Yatu.
