Introduction

Zai Ying (February 14, 1859 – August 18, 1930), a member of the Aisin Gioro clan, Manchu of the Banner of the Imperial Yellow Banner, from the First Clan of the Left Wing Plain White Banner, grandson of Minning, and the fourth son of Prince Dunqin Yiyao. Zai Ying was skilled in painting, especially renowned for his horse paintings.

Life and Official Positions

Born in the late Qing Dynasty. In the 15th year of Guangxu (1889), he was awarded the title of Second-Class Duke of Zhen Guo. In the 20th year of Guangxu (1894), he was promoted to the rank of Buluke with the honorary title of "Burenfuxing duke." In the 28th year of Guangxu (1902), he inherited the title of Duoluo Beile. He held various official positions including Commander of the Guard of the Blue Banner, Minister of Religious Rites of the Immortals, Court Enforcer, Palace Enforcer, Deputy Commander of the Han Army of the Yellow Banner, Guardian of the Eastern Tombs, General of Malan Town, and Commander of the Han Army of the Yellow Banner.

Art and Interests

Zai Ying was renowned for his painting skills, particularly famous for his horse paintings.

Secondary wife: Zhang, daughter of Zhang Rui.
