Huo Zhenyu, originally from Panyu, was born in Hong Kong in 1954. He is the third son of Huo Yingdong. In his early years, he studied computer science in the United Kingdom. In the mid-1980s, he returned to Hong Kong, served as a director of the Huo Yingdong Group, and actively participated in the development of Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone. In 2012, he co-founded Yingdong Nanshan Pharmaceutical Innovation Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 58 million yuan. Huo Zhenyu holds significant positions in various social organizations, including the Hong Kong Youth Federation and is a consulting professor at Beihang University. He is also involved in charitable activities, donating 5 million yuan to support education in Panyu. In 2011, Huo Zhenyu sued his elder brother, Huo Zhenhuan, over family property disputes, accusing him of embezzling family assets. After multiple rounds of mediation, in August 2012, the Huo brothers signed a settlement agreement to divide the inheritance. Although the court previously refused Huo Zhenyu's attempt to reopen the inheritance dispute, the case was brought to court again in 2022, involving conflicts over development rights in Nansha valued at over 9 billion Hong Kong dollars.
