He had served in the diplomatic missions unit of the Foreign Office, with postings including Baghdad between 2003 and 2006, where he was involved as a project manager for the International Centre for Reconciliation. After returning to the UK, he pursued a career in finance, holding roles such as equity analyst at Schroders, managing director of Voltan Capital Management, and director at Devonport Capital.
Lady Gabriella and Thomas Kingston became engaged in August 2018 on the Isle of Sark. They married on 18 May 2019 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. The wedding was attended by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The bride's attire was designed by Luisa Beccaria.
Thomas Kingston passed away on 25 February 2024 at the age of 45, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound while under the influence of antidepressants.
