Introduction
Princess Ningde, named Zhu Huiyan, was born before 1610. She was the sixth daughter of Emperor Guangzong of the Ming Dynasty, and her mother was Consort Fu Yi. In the sixth year of the Tianqi reign (1626), her half-brother, Emperor Xizong of Ming, bestowed upon her the title of Princess Ningde and selected Liu Youfu, the son of Liu Zongzheng, deputy commander of the Nancheng Military Command, as her consort. The princess married in April of the same year. After the fall of the Ming Dynasty, the princess lived with her husband until the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, when she passed away. Early Qing historian Tan Qian, during a visit to Wu Weiye, mentioned the "Xiao Shi Qingmen Qu," which mainly features the princess of Ningde and her husband, depicting the lives of the royal family after the fall of the dynasty.
