His mother is Du Jianying, and his siblings are Zong Jieli and Zong Jisheng. Growing up in the United States, he enrolled in the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in 2012.

Jacky Zong is an entrepreneur and has been active in companies affiliated with Wahaha Group. In February 2022, he became a director of Zhejiang Chengxin Plastics Co., Ltd. In August of the same year, under the English name Jacky Zong, he was appointed director of Ji’an Wahaha Dairy Co., Ltd. By December 2022, he was also serving as director of Shenyang Wahaha Rongtai Food Co., Ltd. In February 2023, he became a director of Shaanxi Wahaha Dairy Co., Ltd.

In 2024, his roles expanded further as he took on directorships at Nanjing Wahaha Beverage Co., Ltd., Tianjin Wahaha Food Co., Ltd., Dali Wahaha Beverage Co., Ltd., and Shuangcheng Wahaha Dairy Co., Ltd. However, beginning in early 2025, Wahaha shut down production lines at 18 of its factories, including several where Jacky Zong held board positions, such as Dali, Shuangcheng, Nanjing, Shenyang, and Tianjin subsidiaries.

On the family front, in December 2024, Jacky Zong, along with his siblings Zong Jieli and Zong Jisheng, filed a lawsuit in Hong Kong against Wahaha chairwoman Zong Fuli over asset disputes. In 2025, the siblings also filed a confirmation-of-rights lawsuit at the Hangzhou Intermediate People’s Court. That same year, Jacky Zong was engaged in financial investment activities in the United States. On July 14, 2025, the Hong Kong High Court (Courtroom 23) heard the case in which Jacky Zong and others sought HKD 14 billion and equity claims against Zong Fuli.

Jacky Zong has served as a director across multiple Wahaha-affiliated enterprises, while also becoming publicly known for his involvement in family disputes over Wahaha’s assets and equity.
