Introduction
Loge, in Manchu ᠯᠣᡤᡝ, transliteration Loge; 1611–1621, of Aisin Gioro lineage, the second son of Qing Taizong. Loge was born in the 39th year of Ming Emperor Wanli’s reign (1611 CE), with his mother being Hulunala Jifei. His paternal line is the son of Qing Taizong, belonging to the noble class of Later Jin. Existing historical records do not provide clear details about Loge’s birthplace, childhood education, court upbringing, early experiences, or official appointments. The official histories only mention basic information such as his status and age, lacking systematic biographical details. Loge died at the age of 11 in the sixth year of the Tianming era of Later Jin (1621), with cause of death recorded as illness; he was not posthumously given a temple name. Subsequently, accounts of Loge mainly appear in genealogies and imperial records, with some entries only listing his name and the years of birth and death. The recorded life and events of Loge in surviving literature are quite limited, mainly centered around his paternal and clan relationships.
