Introduction
Beizi Hongjing (Manchu: ᡥᡡᠩ ᡤᡮ信ᠣᠩ; Transliterated by Mulin de: hūng giong; July 4, 1703 – April 27, 1777), the seventh son of Chengyin Junwang Yunzhi. His mother was Cefu Jin, his father was the Bietieshi Duntali. He belonged to the second generation of the Chengjunwang (Chengjun Prince) lineage. Born in May of the 42nd year of Kangxi (1703), he was bestowed the title of Feng'en Zhen Guogong (Graceful Defender of the Nation) in 1728 (the 6th year of Yongzheng). Two years later, in May 1730 (the 8th year of Yongzheng), he succeeded his father Yunzhi, who had been deprived of his title, becoming the second generation of the Chengjunwang. Since the Chengjunwang title was not a hereditary peerage but an honorific one, his official title was only that of Gushan Beizi (Gushan Princelet). He passed away in March of the 42nd year of Qianlong (1777), at the age of 75. His eldest son, Yonghu, died early; his second son, Yongpo, was stripped of his title as a Gongjun (Prince of the Second Rank). Therefore, his third son, Yongshan, inherited the title of the third generation of Chengjunwang but was also demoted by one rank to Feng'en Zhen Guogong.
