Lord Josceline Percy

Lord Josceline William Percy was born on 17 July 1811 and died on 25 July 1881. He was a member of the British Conservative Party and served as a politician in the 19th century.

He was the second son of George Percy, the 5th Duke of Northumberland, and his wife Louisa, who was the daughter of the Honorable James Stuart-Wortley. His elder brother was Algernon Percy, the 6th Duke of Northumberland, and he had a younger brother named Lord Henry Percy. Upon his father's succession to the dukedom in 1865, he adopted the courtesy title Lord Josceline Percy.

Percy received his education at Eton College before attending St John's College at the University of Cambridge. He graduated with a Master of Arts degree in 1833.

In his political career, Percy was elected as the Member of Parliament for Launceston in the 1852 general election. He served as MP for Launceston until 1859, maintaining the seat for approximately seven years.

In his personal life, Percy married Margaret in 1848. Margaret was the daughter of Sir David Davidson and the widow of Sir Robert Grant. Percy’s wife passed away in June 1885, four years after his own death.
