Introduction

Princess Yongfu, born around 1506 and died on June 20, 1525, was a princess of the Ming Dynasty. She was the daughter of Emperor Ruizong of Ming; her mother's identity is unknown. According to the records of "Wanli Wild Collection" and "Ming Emperor Shizong's Annals," she was the daughter of Emperor Ruizong, but the "History of Ming" incorrectly records her as the daughter of Emperor Xiaozong. Her exact year of birth is not known, but based on the marriage dates of her sisters, it is estimated to be around 1506. She was successively title as Changshou County Princess and Chang Princess. In the second year of Jiajing (1523), she was titled Chang Princess, and in the same year, on the 26th day of the lunar July (September 5th Gregorian calendar), she married Wu Jinghe. She died on June 20, 1525. Wu Jinghe was demoted and sent back to his hometown after losing manners when presenting a memorial to Emperor Shizong. By the 35th year of Jiajing (1556), Wu Jinghe requested to remain in the capital to pay respects to the princess, and his request was granted.
