Zhu Mali

Zhu Mary is the wife of Wang Yang, former Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and former member of the CCP Politburo Standing Committee. She was born into a family in Su County (now Suzhou City), Anhui Province, with a notable political background. Her father, Zhu Jianyuan, served as Deputy Commissioner of the Su County Administrative Office. As of 2012, he was still living in his hometown, Liuwafang Village in Taogou Township, near a high-speed rail station, which some local villagers speculated may have been influenced by his position.

Zhu Mary married Wang Yang when he was only 20 years old and still working as a factory hand and grassroots cadre at a local food processing plant. Their marriage provided Wang with both family support and new social connections during his early career.
